Try not to read AI slop for your presentation

For the pattern matchers out there, are you noticing it?

There’s as much AI in presentations, speeches and pitches as there is in posts, blogs and articles.

Even the slide decks are AI generated and looking same same with ‘that font’ and overcrowded with imagery and content.

Slides are like colour coordinated home interiors, with a stack of books with key phrases on their spines, coffee cups in sunlight and shadowy lighting with ‘it’s not this, it’s that’ statements.

All of it feels great when you have to speak. ‘AI did my presentation’ - but is it really yours?

It’s a shame to not hear what the speaker actually thinks, in their words, phrasing, style and story.

Yes, while AI is giving people confidence and voice to collect some information and speak or present, alot of it is becoming as predictable as the written stuff.

And because the AI presentation deck isn’t yours, you likely don’t truly know it, feel it and believe it. Then you might not be able to learn it in time; it will be like a script that someone else wrote.

The cognitive offloading of presentation creation does make us readers of someone else’s material and ideas. And even AI isn’t that original.

Structuring a presentation is a skill, and it can be learnt. Just as speaking in public is a skill to learn too.

As much as perfect sounding text feels like a shortcut to a great presentation, it can end up blending you in to every other presentation.

Don’t give up on your own clever.
