My artistic work is about making and creating a change, a transformation – and surviving it.
I work primarily with detritus: dead, discarded and found elements from nature like branches, sticks, flowers, leaves, seed pods, vines and creepers. These often-overlooked elements, find new life in my hands.
I merge them, with each other or with recycled and other remnant materials.
Each piece is an abstract exploration and combination of at least two or more elements. Through random and complementary connecting, weaving, attaching and vining, compositions captivate the eye with beauty, form, flow, direction and shape.
There is inherent beauty in the discarded; I transform them into delicate and shapely structures.
Through my creations, I hope to inspire others to see the potential for beauty in every piece of natural and organic material they see and to know there is a beauty and art in nature, everywhere.
I create artistic works from my studio in Albert Park Village, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
